I'm Nayan, a student at UPenn studying AI and Statistics.

I currently work on vision-language models and fast inference kernels at Relay, and on learned compression for Rubin Observatory transient alerts with Dr. Mathew Madhavacheril at Penn. I also evaluate seed-stage B2B software at Cofounders Capital.

I've worked on

Asteroid classification — the first supervised ML model to classify Near-Earth Asteroids into the Bus-DeMeo taxonomy (first-author, with MIT).

RefuGPT — a multilingual RAG assistant guiding refugees through resettlement, built for my nonprofit Refugee Assist.

5G site planning — deep learning on 10,000+ satellite images to replace ray-tracing simulation, at Duke.

Doped polymers — measured the electrical properties of doped polymers for AI-optimized chips, at NC State.

Outside of work, I surf, play golf, and watch football (go Panthers!)
